It’s a coastal comeback, if the new government funded project is anything to go by! Hotels, pubs and restaurants in coastal towns are due to benefit from a £700,000 government fund to boost seaside tourism. Which is great news for our customers with seaside properties as you could soon be seeing an influx of new visitors to your area, all in need of a place to stay!

With the aim of increasing the number of people taking UK staycations, the government has high hopes that the funding will boost the £4bn that is already generated by coastal tourism every year. And by targeting investment outside of London, the government plans to ‘rebalance the economy.’

There are fifteen locations included in the project which include the Isle of Wight, Devon and Cumbria, all hoping to restore the local landmarks.

To give you an example of some of the projects that the funding will go towards, a disused lido in Morecambe will be getting a revamp, Mayport Lighthouse will be being restored to working order and there will be an arts and performance area near the Isle of Wight’s Ryde Pier.

So this is great news for the hospitality industry, with so many of our customers located near the coast, this revamp could mean more interest in your area, and a massive selling point for marketing your property.

Obviously at eviivo, we are excited that the government are investing so much time and money into coastal tourism. With so many hidden gems, fantastic heritage sites and stunning coasts on our door step, we are glad that they are getting the financial backing to spruce them up. And hopefully more and more people will be choosing fish and chips on British beaches over heading overseas.
