Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time … for the eviivo Awards 2019 shortlist to be announced! This year we have an exciting new category and a cornucopia of fantastic award-worthy properties in the shortlist. We definitely don’t envy the judges as it’s going to be near impossible to choose the winners.

The newest string to our bow – the brand spanking Bed, Breakfast & Beyond Award – is designed to recognise B&Bs, vacation rentals, small hotels and self-catered accommodation that offers a little bit extra to the traditional bed & breakfast. We had a huge influx of entries, and the judges decided on some of the most unique properties we’ve ever seen. From a B&B with a landing strip, to self catering lodges set among the vines of a vineyard – these accommodation providers offer something extra included in the price of a stay.

For the Tastiest Breakfast Award, we will soon announce the celebrity chef judge, who will be accompanied by Janette Likeman (last year’s winner from Graysonside Guest House). The finalists will compete in a cook-off to wow the judges and be crowned the winner.

It’s been another year for stand-out properties shortlisted for Quirkiest Place to Stay and Sweetest Homestay, including a restaurant with rooms built into the side of a cliff, a Harry Potter themed apartment rental, and a real-life replica Celtish settlement! With even more memorable places to stay also nominated, the eviivo Awards 2019 shortlist makes for a bucket list of dream staycation destinations.

Shortlists for the other awards including, Budget with a Twist, Outstanding Host and Multi Property Wizard, showcase properties from up and down the UK, demonstrating the quality and spread of independent accommodation in this country.

The news of the eviivo Awards 2019 shortlist has already spread, and has been covered by The London Post, Luxury Hospitality Magazine, Hotel Magazine and NI Travel News. The eviivo Awards garner significant press coverage each year, as they are a industry highlight – after all, they have been dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the independent accommodation industry!

In keeping with eviivo Awards tradition, the Hidden Gem nominees and candidates for the Star Amongst Stars Award have also been listed. There are five nominees shortlisted for each of the nine UK regions. Since last year’s eviivo Awards, and following eviivo’s expansion into North America, there are also Hidden Gems for USA, as well as European properties from Spain & Germany, present on the eviivo Awards 2019 shortlist.

We are looking forward to the eviivo Awards night on 15th October and hope to see some of the nominees there for James Bond themed Thunderball.
