Yesterday some of the eviivo team had the pleasure of attending the AA awards and we were thrilled to be able to sponsor and present the “Friendliest B&B Award”, because it really gets to heart of what the independent accommodation sector is all about…and that’s you, the faces behind the places.
At eviivo, we spend a lot of time meeting with, and staying at, a wide variety of B&B’s across the UK, and one question always comes up: “why should someone stay with you, rather than at the Premier Inn or Hilton or whatever chain hotel down the road?” And the answer is pretty much always the same: It’s because of you, the B&B owners, you’re what makes the difference.
And you know what, it’s true.
Whether it’s 5* Gold property who hand out their mobile phone numbers so their guests can call them for advice on local places to eat while out and about or a 3* seaside B&B for young families where the owner uses funny hats and silly aprons while making breakfast to keep the young children entertained, it’s that true hospitality, friendliness and passion for what you do that makes this industry different, unique and special. You can’t get service like that in any chain hotel, or in any other sector, no matter what price you pay.
And at eviivo we say, we’re for anyone with rooms to sell and a story to tell. What we mean by that is we want to work with properties that leave their guests telling their friends stories about that trip for months or years afterward. Those stories don’t just come from great views, king sized beds or any of that. They come from the people, the faces behind the places.
And that’s why we were so proud to be asked to join the AA, who we believe also champion a lot of what’s best about B&B’s today, to present the friendliest B&B award.
And congratulations to the three eviivo customers that were nominated for this award:
- Llwyn Helyg Country House, Llanarthney, Carmarthenshire.
- Danehurst House,Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
- Park Lodge, Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear.
