With Christmas approaching fast, we wanted to get into the festive spirit by speaking to one of our customers with a slightly more festive story: The Domaine des Remparts, in the French city of Sélestat.
Sélestat is part of the region of Alsace, and at the heart of it is the Christmas tree, with the first written mention kept in an account book, dated 1521, in the Humanitarian library of the city.
So we went to explore this Christmas wonderland through the eyes of Marie and Jacky Kracher who own The Domaine des Remparts in the area.
In the video they tell us their story, the concept of their property and give advice to anyone thinking of entering the independent B&B and hotel industry.
We also awarded Marie and Jacky with the Hidden Gem Award 2016 of Alsace, last Friday.
This award recognizes the exceptional independent hotels and b&bs, that offer an outstanding experience, have a unique story to share, and have a strong online presence.
This trophy was given by our Ambassador, Laurène, who manages two blogs Mon week end en-alsace and Carnet d’ escapades.
