The Germinian Guest House is a family-run bed and breakfast located in the heart of Harrogate. They are ideally situated just two minutes away from the town centre which is bustling with stylish pubs, restaurants and modern shops. The Guest House is in a perfect location for those wanting to visit the world famous Turkish Baths or to attend one of Europe’s largest exhibition centres or those planning to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside.
We spoke to the owners Michael and Denys Dean about what makes their business so successful:
How long have you been in the B&B business?
We moved to Harrogate on May 5th 1992, so we have run our business for over 23 years.
What do you think the key to success for your business is?
It’s hard to pinpoint why or how a business is successful but if you get your pricing right, offer good quality guest rooms and a hearty breakfast you are on the right tracks!
What types of jobs do you hire out vs doing yourself?
We started to use a laundry service this February, up until then we did it all ourselves.
Do you have any advice for other B&B owners?
The main thing to remember is the guest is the most important part of the business.
