Last month we held our prestigious eviivo awards at the beautiful Café de Paris in London. So we thought we would catch up with a couple of the winners and see how they felt about their success and pick up some handy tips too!
First to check in is Emma from Glenegdale House in the Isle of Islay who won the Hidden Gem of Scotland eviivo award. She tells us all about their how their property has transformed over the years. Starting as a coach house, then a diary, before becoming a mechanical garage where the first Land Rover was built, to becoming a petrol station and now being the 5* Gold B&B that it is today. She also tells us of the time a woman bought her teddy bear to stay, and the teddy had to have his own breakfast cooked for him and he even had to have his own afternoon tea!
Last to check in is James from Manor Farm B&B in Wiltshire who won the Outstanding Host eviivo award. He tell us all about being a third generation B&B owner, and how when people come to stay with them, they get on so well that he feels awkward asking them to pay at the end. He also recalls the time he was waiting for their Australian guests named Bruce and Sheila to arrive. And an Australian couple did arrive called Bruce and Shelia. But it was only when they got to the room and checked-in that they realised it was the wrong Bruce and Shelia as these guests had just seen their sign and came to the door in the hopes of somewhere to stay.
