Product Owner - UK

London, UK

In recent times, companies such as Uber, Airbnb, Zoopla, and Just Eat have disrupted the lifestyle industry to become multi $billion businesses. eviivo is on a mission to shake up the independent accommodation sector by offering a cloud-based platform to “anyone with rooms to sell, and a story to tell”.

Our flagship product, eviivo suite, provides hoteliers and hosts with a convenient all-in-one solution that makes it really easy for them to manage online bookings, guests and travel agencies. Today, eviivo’s customer base consists of 20,000 small independent B&Bs, Guesthouses, Vacation Rental Owners and Hotels using eviivo suite day-in day-out to run their business.

Born out of a joint project with the UK Government over ten years ago, where eviivo ran the UK’s National Tourism Database, the company has reinvented itself since its acquisition by Private Equity Group Investcorp, mid 2011. Having radically changed its business model, eviivo is now a vibrant young company, with offices in the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Austin TX, and more recently in Spain.

With a culture focused on staff development, a passion for helping the brilliant businesses we represent and a clear vision for growth laid out by our CEO that rests heavily on technical innovation, we think eviivo has a lot to offer.

Role

eviivo is looking for a Product Owner to join our Connectivity & Onboarding team. Our customers range from 5 star independent hotels and boutique chains to family-run B&B and large vacation rental property managers. Our team is responsible for keeping them all connected, in real-time, to global travel sites such as Booking.com, Expedia and Airbnb. Our infrastructure is the lifeblood for thousands of small businesses. If it fails, guests can’t make bookings and their business stops.

Therefore our Connectivity product needs to be fast, flawless and invisible – keeping everything in sync without getting in the way. And on the Onboarding side, we seek to deliver a simple, friction-free experience to bring new customers onto the platform as easily as possible. If this combination of product and engineering challenge excites you, read on.

As a medium-sized company, eviivo can offer the ‘best of both worlds’ to the right candidate. We’re hungry for growth and not big on bureaucracy. Any individual Product Owner has a significant leadership role and will impact our product direction and business success. We’re a top player in our market, with a solid customer base that’s growing. Anything you ship will have an immediate impact on the travel experience for a large number of guests and properties alike.

This means we’re looking for someone who is flexible, quick to learn, passionate and driven by delivery and details. A typical day-in-the-life of a Product Owner at eviivo can include UI design, careful analysis of new APIs, working in-depth with developers on technical problems, agreeing high-level requirements with senior executives, performing UAT on pre-release code, organising production releases, gathering reporting data using SQL, training our frontline teams, troubleshooting live issues and attending external meetings with our partners and customers.

If there are things in this list which you haven’t done yet, please don’t be put-off! We will offer you a supportive environment to learn and develop skills in new areas – that’s one of the best parts of the job! – and we’ll always work together as a team to succeed. But if you’re the type of person who thrives in a more tightly-defined role, as you might find in a Product Owner at a large company, then this position is not for you.
