We're proud that so many of the properties who work with eviivo leave each and every guest with a story to tell. One very important part of that story is the superior service guests receive when staying at your property, and the research shows that when in comes to reviews, properties in the independent sector significantly outscore the chain hotels in this area. 

So, this award is designed to celebrate the owner/manager who goes not just the extra mile, but the extra miles to ensure their guests have a great stay. A fabulous welcome, unforgettable personality, extra services available, nothing should be too much trouble for your guests, with all of this reflected in your reviews and feedback.

Thank you for all your entries, we have been blown away with the number and the quality of submissions that we received this year. It has made pulling together the shortlist a very tough task indeed, and here they are. The winners will be all be announced at our 2017 award ceremony at Café de Paris in London on October 17th.

The Everlook Guest House and B&B - Powys
Concierge like services including complimentary pick-ups from the local station, baggage transfer for walkers and a guest lounge and library highlight the professional service at The Everlook. Allie runs the property with her partner Marc, a trained Chef, with the bistro style breakfast and signature dishes completing the genuine hospitality found here.

Koala Cottage - Isle of Wight
Koala Cottage offers many extras to add to the level of service including chocolates in the rooms, and ferry and restaurant bookings. Plus you will find an onsite Spa here including Jacuzzi and sauna, for private use by guests.

The Pearl Hotel - Cambridgeshire
It’s the little touches that make The Pearl Hotel stand out, from the welcome notes to every guest in a pearl frame in each room, to the cards on their bed wishing them sweet dreams in multiple languages. On Valentine’s Day you will even find rose petals laid out in a heart shape adorning every bed.

Manor Farm B&B

As a working farmhouse and family home for 6 generations, guests at Manor Farm B&B are very much staying at a home away from home. With the owners here extending a genuine, heartfelt and sincere welcome, as well as friendship, with this perhaps the ultimate level of service of all.

Michelle goes the extra mile for her guests by creating bespoke maps for them based on what they would like to see in the local area, so they will get the most out of there stay, with breakfast available as early as 5am ahead of a full day’s exploring.

With The Windmill Hotel’s location in a busy area of North London Diana often welcomes guests from around the world, and if a language barrier ever becomes a challenge she is straight on to translation websites to help make the guest feel welcome and comfortable.

Orchard Lodge
- North Yorkshire
At Orchard Lodge Andrew and Lesley go the extra mile with homemade cakes on arrival, homemade jams and marmalade for breakfast, along with apple juice from the orchard. Dogs are welcomed too, and are even treated to a sausage at breakfast!

The Old School and Betty's Cottage - Cumbria
Homemade cake and Peach Schnapps on arrival, chocolate covered marshmallows on pillows and Easter Eggs at Easter make this a fantastic place for those with a sweet tooth. Service is key here and perhaps best demonstrated when Lesley persuaded a friend to make a special fishing trip to catch the lobster she had promised to her guests that evening. Before then driving the 20 miles to collect it, and deliver it a local restaurant where it was cooked for their supper!

Bridge B&B - Derry
Ursula regularly helps with dropping people to the airport or local station, and always tries to accommodate late check-ins and early check-outs. Almost all Bridge B&B’s reviews mention Ursula, with descriptions including ‘an angel of a woman’ to ‘an absolute legend’!

Glenegedale House
- Argyle
There are a number of concierge type services done as a given here including booking trips and restaurants, and complimentary lifts around the island. Guests can meet the resident sheep and ponies, and even collect their own eggs laid by the hens, for their breakfast. Graeme and Emma really go the extra mile when trips are part of special occasions helping to organise unique experiences for guests.
