Great British B&B Breakfasts

“To eat well in England you should have breakfast three times a day.”

Somerset Maugham (1874-1965)

Everyone knows that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and no one believes that more doggedly than bed & breakfast owners up and down Britain. For this reason, we’ve asked our customers for their specialist recipes that they serve to their guests’ glee. With this cookbook, you can re-create the romance and warmth of a bed and breakfast in your own home.

About the Great British B&B Breakfast Cookbook

We’ve always been proud to be part of the incredible B&B industry, and want to see our customers thrive and celebrate their successes wherever we can.

Cookbook-cover

Now, for the first time, we’re publishing a collection of 40 delicious breakfast recipes from past awards winners, finalists and eviivo customers. Full of unique and delicious breakfasts from the length and breadth of Britain for you to try at home, this book showcases the culinary creativity of our independent hosts and hoteliers. The recipes cover the traditional alongside the exotic and unusual, including:

  • Mushrooms on toast, with garam masala and savoury crunchies
  • Duck egg, chorizo and guacamole on cornbread
  • Crumpets topped with ham and cheese
  • And our personal favourite: Sardines in custard

“Britain’s B&Bs have experienced a renaissance in recent years and I was really impressed by the finalists for the best breakfast award. I’ve always been passionate about good, authentic cooking and it’s great to see such a variety of breakfast dishes from B&B owners alongside traditional bacon and eggs!”

Michel Roux Jr

“Together with Michel Roux Jnr at the eviivo Tastiest Breakfast Award, we were delighted by the spirited, comforting and unique breakfasts served in Britain. Now, with this book you can see what excited us and recreate those dishes and techniques at home… Get the kettle on, breakfast is served.”
