The eviivo Awards are renowned in the travel industry for supporting and promoting the independent accommodation sector, and while they were put on pause during the pandemic, they’re back for 2022 — and more inclusive than ever! This year, we’re going global — and we’re proud to host the celebrated event in the UK, Germany, France and the US!
The best properties in the UK, Germany, France and the US will be recognised globally in daily activations during International Week of the Host, from March 21st – March 25th, including the eviivo Awards on March 24th.
Both International Week of the Host and the eviivo Awards have a single purpose: to raise the profile of the independent accommodation sector and highlight and support exceptional property owners, small hoteliers and hosts like you.
International Week of the
Host is all about you!
Our mission is to help you showcase your property, highlight to the world why travelers should book with you, and raise awareness of the growing independent accommodation sector.
Whether you run an inn, a B&B, a boutique hotel, a guest house, pub with rooms, vacation rental or multi-unit accommodation, or even unique places such as yurts or shepherds huts, now is your chance to promote your property and let travelers know you’re among the best in the UK, Germany, France and the US.
Our awards ceremony, the eviivo Awards, will be a virtual event streamed simultaneously in the UK, US, France and Germany on March 24th at 7pm BST/8pm CET and again at 8pm EST in the US. So break out the champagne and join us to watch the proceedings, the announcement of the winners and secret celebrity guest hosts!
eviivo and its partners will also host daily activations to help recognise and promote independent properties across the globe, such as a flash sale with outstanding properties and travel influencer stays to highlight amazing places.
Submit your property to win big!
On March 24th, the eviivo Awards will recognize, highlight and honour exceptional properties and hosts across the UK, US, France and Germany, in three new award categories:
Hottest Property Award
Unique? Over-the-top luxury? Cool design? The Hottest Property Award recognises properties that simply have that “wow” factor. Whether they are forward thinking in design, have cool features (like an infinity pool overlooking a mountain or 80s nostalgic games room with pinball and arcade), the hottest properties are the types that go viral on social media. Show to us that your property is the hottest place of the year, and how you transformed it into a visual phenomena.
Judging criteria: Applicants must show innovation in design — attention to detail, exceeding expectations in comfort and cool factors apply.
Unsung Hero Award
Any successful accommodation business relies on every individual employee to give their very best. Sometimes their efforts are highly visible, but often the hard work of team members goes unnoticed by guests. It could be the conscientious cleaner, green-fingered gardener, or the sous chef preparing a delicious breakfast day in/day out.
The Unsung Hero Award will reward the employee, nominated by owners, whom they rely on for their businesses to be successful — individuals who keep the business going, the glue that holds everyone together, and the virtual pillars of the property who deserve to have their time in the sun. This is a great opportunity to put your property in the limelight but also to give a big special thank you to these special employees.
Judging criteria: Nomination will be a vital cog in the wheel that drives the success of the property, someone who demonstrated great dedication to the business over the years and improved processes in their area of expertise.
Research shows that when it comes to reviews, properties in the independent accommodation sector significantly outscore the chain hotels in their area. The Outstanding Host Award is designed to recognise the business, owners, managers and/or hosts who not only go the extra mile, but also exceed expectations for their guests and can demonstrate the building of a service culture throughout the operation of the accommodation.
Judging criteria: The submission will prove how they have exceeded expectations for their guests, perhaps demonstrated through online reviews or how they made sacrifices for their staff and property to continue thriving.
The announcement of the winners will take place on March 24th with an exciting and entertaining special virtual event, streamed simultaneously in the UK, US, France and Germany and attended by key industry experts and special messages from surprise celebrity guests.
Each category winner in each country will receive $1,000 (US)/ £1,000 (UK)/ €1,000 (Germany/France) to put toward their property.
Runners-up will each receive a $250 (US) / £250 (UK) / €250 (Germany/France) credit toward the cost of their eviivo subscription or OTA commissions.
Both winners and runners-up will receive a special plaque to mark the occasion and recognise the quality of the services they provide. They will also be promoted by eviivo on eviivo.com and through our social media and communications program.
Any property owner, hotelier, or host currently in operation can enter the awards.
Deadline for submission: March 3rd, 2022
For more details on the categories and how to enter, simply fill out the form for the relevant award category, provide the best available photo and tell us why you deserve to win. We’ll then announce the shortlist and put it to a panel of expert industry judges to determine the winners.
You can enter as many applicable categories as you wish to help increase your chances of being shortlisted — and winning an award!
The awards are free to enter, so what are you waiting for?
The International Week of the Host Team
About International Week of the Host 2022
International Week of the Host recognises outstanding hosts and properties in the independent accommodation sector. The highly acclaimed event has been a long-standing success, with its prestigious award ceremony, the eviivo Awards, deemed “the Oscars of independent accommodation” and garnering acclaim from Daily Mail to Luxury Hospitality Magazine.
While the event was put on pause during the pandemic, eviivo and other event sponsors, partners and industry professionals re-evaluated its mission, and the decision to now include all types of accommodation types was unanimous. Rebranding the event, formerly called National B&B Week in the UK, to International Week of the Host, is reflective of the natural evolution and inclusiveness of our incredible industry — and it’s open to anyone who has a room to sell and story to tell.
With the last two years having been a challenging time for accommodation providers, with bookings canceled and properties closed for many weeks, International Week of the Host 2022 aims to help the sector thrive.
As small team or family-run businesses, independent accommodation don’t always have the financial reserves and corporate support that larger multinational chains do; they have to adapt quickly to survive and thrive, and International Week of the Host pays tribute to their ongoing resilience, determination and innovation.
International Week of the Host is, of course, about the people behind the properties; the faces behind the places. Whether they’re new entrants bringing fresh ideas to the sector, or veterans with years of experience, looking after guests is what hosts do best. We want as many people as possible to enjoy the warm welcome, professional service and local knowledge hosts offer — and to experience for themselves the benefits of staying independent.
The week-long celebrations are open to anyone with rooms to sell and a story to tell: B&Bs, inns, guest houses, vacation rentals, boutique hotels, pubs with rooms, castles, cottages and cabins, yurts and any imaginative forms of alternative accommodation!
International Week of the Host has been created in association with the B&B Association and is sponsored by eviivo and numerous other partners. Find out more about eviivo and its award-winning software for independent accommodation providers.
