I love that they’re able to have a little more freedom and explore the world while they’re still plugged in with their work” says Michele.

For travelers, that might be seeking out spa stays, or yoga breaks, or simply locations offering a chance to unplug and recharge. For accommodation owners and managers, it’s increasing levels of automation at their properties, freeing them from mundane admin, or using tech such as a mobile app to allow them to manage their bookings from anywhere, not just the confines of an office.
Other trends to watch included a preference by travelers for smaller, independent accommodations over larger corporate chain hotels, and despite rising costs and inflation, travelers prioritising spending on their trips but seeking value for money and memorable experiences.
