The eviivo awards are creeping up with just under 3 weeks to go! So we are speaking to a couple of the finalists to see how they feel about their nomination and to see if we can pick up a few handy tips from them about their success.

Checking in first is Debs from The Mercury who is nominated for ‘Most Creative Name.’ She tells us how she and her partner came up with a name for their musically inspired property that has signed images of rock legends adorning their walls. She also tells us of the time a guest gave her his leftover prawn curry one evening and asked her to save it for his breakfast, and then called in the morning to ask her to put a hard-boiled egg on the top of it.

Next to check-in is Jon from The Fleece Countryside Inn who are up for ‘Most Beautifully Presented.’ He tells us about how they aim to offer the ‘full package’ when people come to stay with them and that’s great food, great drink and a great bed! He also tells us about the time he found a false leg left behind in someone’s room, but when he tried to return it to them, they denied that it was theirs!

Last to check-in is David Weston from The B&B Association who updates us with the latest B&B industry news including their campaign for fairer deals with the online travel websites. He also tells us about the first ever B&B summit in London happening in October! We also get to hear his thoughts on being a judge at the eviivo awards where he will be judging the ‘Budget With a Twist’ category.
