There were plenty of delighted eviivo customers at the AA B&B Awards this week, where some of the best B&Bs in the country joined together at the Landmark Hotel, London to celebrate their success.
Across a variety of categories, AA inspected B&Bs from all over the UK were recognised for their achievements, proving that more than ever, award winners use eviivo. From Suffolk, the Long Melford Swan took the title of AA Restaurant with Rooms of the Year while from Builth Wells in Powys, the charming Rhedyn Guest House was crowned Guest Accommodation of the Year for Wales.
eviivo had again sponsored the AA Story Award. This year’s winner, Fosse Farmhouse in Castle Combe, certainly had a story to tell. An attractive 2-bedroom Cotswold property, in search results in Google its name appears in Japanese as well as English. That’s because it was the setting for the most famous anime cartoon on Japanese TV, watched by 5 ½ million viewers, and all of its features, from the doormat to the ornaments on the mantelpiece, were painstakingly reproduced on the small screen. Now anime fans worldwide head there to stay in the B&B bedrooms featured in the film.
eviivo had also sponsored the Friendliest B&B category. We’ve always said that what really makes a stay at a B&B so special is the hosts and this award recognises some of the friendliest faces in the business. To back up our belief, we’ve just carried out some research looking at 1,500 reviews of our top performing properties. We found that the word most commonly used in a review (after ‘breakfast’, of course!) wasn’t ‘bed’- it was ‘friendly’, closely followed by ‘welcome’ and ‘host’.
The finalists in this hotly contested category included The Leicester, Southport and Whashton Springs Farm near Richmond, North Yorkshire. The Ship Inn, in High Hesleden near Hartlepool came close to carrying away the trophy but it was The Temple Bar Inn in the Herefordshire village of Ewyas Harold which was declared the Friendliest B&B of the Year.
You couldn’t hope to spend time with a more friendly, talented and dedicated group of hosts and hoteliers than those gathered at the AA B&B Awards. Congratulations to them all!
