First, you set strategic goals for AI pricing, globally and/or at the property and/or at the room/unit levels. These goals can be based on RevPAR, occupancy, price, or a combination (such as driving occupancy up to a certain level and then maximizing RevPAR).  

You can also set guardrails by imposing standard minimum and maximum prices by room/unit category and only permitting AI to drop below the minimum in certain circumstances (for example, when occupancy is very low and you need to encourage bookings, but have enough time left before check-in to make this up).  

The same applies to minimum stay restrictions, where you can permit AI to break the rule and offer shorter stays to fill awkward gaps in your calendar. In addition, you can define the most relevant local competitor set and a list of local events, incorporating their typical impact on booking levels.
